Fourth place winner with a $100 scholarship was Paige Beltran for her decision to go to college and pursue her dreams. The individuals competed in a four-way test speech contest with a topic of their choice. In the students speech's four questions were answered about how each question related to their specific topic. Perez will have a chance to perfect his speech for Area 6 Competition on March 6 with students from Freer High School, San Diego High School and Three Rivers High School. Volunteer judges for the contest were Dee Dee Arismendez, Gail Hoffman and John Bedgood, who focused on the content of the speech not only on the speech presentation. Questions were: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? After the March 6 contest the finalist will compete in Corpus Christi. |
