Rotarians Help Reading Foundation
A $500 donation was made to the library at Mary R. Garcia Elementary on Monday, Dec. 5. On behalf of the Rotary Club of Alice, Rotarian Lane Bowen handed Mary R. Garcia Elementary Librarian Diana Reyes with the check.
A $500 donation was made to the library at Mary R. Garcia Elementary on Monday, Dec. 5.
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Alice, Rotarian Lane Bowen handed Mary R. Garcia Elementary Librarian Diana Reyes with the check.
"We are happy and excited," Reyes stated. " "We will be able to add to our small collection of books. Our plan is to build our collection little by little to benefit the lower grade levels to start the foundation."
According to Bowen, the gift will give the school's library the opportunity to purchase books and other necessities they may need. As the school year progress rotarians will stop by the school to read to the students.
